Are you experiencing breakouts near your hair line and temple area? It could be caused by the shampoo and conditioner that you are currently using. Try switching to a different brand, or shampoo specially formulated to be gentle on the scalp.
Try to avoid shampoos with conditioning agents: - proteins
- silicones
- quaternium
- polyquaternium
Once you have rinsed out the shampoo, use only a small amount of conditioner on the ends. Do not put conditioner on your roots because that is the area where oils start to build up as soon as you are out of the shower. Stick with this routine for a few days to see how it affects your skin, if the breakouts start clearing up, then you will have some idea of what caused them and avoid them completely. Also, take a close look at the styling products (leave-in treatments) that you are using because a build up of these products can increase your chances of developing acne near your hairline. Breakouts along the hair line are treated the same way as breakouts anywhere on your face and body, with gentle cleaners, exfoliating with AHA/BHA and a disinfecting topical antibiotic. Do not use Benzoyl Peroxide because it can bleach the hair along your hair line. Related Articles On Acne Prevention Stop Over Applying Acne Medication! A Connection Between Hormones and Acne?
